In Minnesota, the law says that you have to be over the age of 21 to buy THC edibles. Please only try these if you are over 21 and feel like you are in a good place to be consuming CBD and THC products. In July of 2022, edibles containing small amounts of THC became legalized in the state of Minnesota. Most people when they hear “edibles” think of gummies or baked goods like brownies, but THC and CBD can come in many forms. I had never heard of THC seltzers when they became legal in Minnesota. I was intrigued by the idea, but never felt like it was something I would be interested in trying. A few months after edibles became legal in the state, my friend and I were getting brunch at our favorite coffee shop in town and we noticed that they were selling Cycling Frog THC seltzers. The staff were happy to tell us about the new drinks they offered. They told us that each can contained 5mg of Delta 9 THC and 10mg of CBD and they came in three flavors (Ruby Grapefruit, Black Currant, and Wild Cherry). I didn’t know much about marijuana or the types of THC that were legal and available to buy at a store. After further research, I learned that Delta 9 is the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. Balanced with CBD (the part of cannabis that does not make you high), each edible is made with a different feeling in mind. THC seltzers often take longer to hit you, but the effects can be much stronger and last much longer than gummy edibles.
Over the course of over a year, I’ve tried 16 different kinds of THC seltzers. I was so intrigued by the idea of a THC seltzer, I decided to create a review that looks at three different factors: flavor, texture, and potency. The list is in the order that I tried them. The order has nothing to do with the rankings.
Cycling Frog
Grapefruit ● 5mg THC ● 10mg CBD
Flavor: 9.8/10 not the strongest grapefruit flavor, similar to a grapefruit Izzy soda
Texture: 10/10 very fizzy and refreshing, also great over ice
Potency: 10/10 very calming, plenty of CBD creating a really nice high
Notes: In my opinion, this is the best one on the market
Tetra
Grapefruit ● 5mg THC ● 15mg CBD
Flavor: 6.5/10 not a super clear grapefruit flavor, a little bit of a powdery taste, but still good
Texture: 4.5/10 too powdery, tastes like something other than a seltzer
Potency: 8.5/10 strong effect, but not the chillest high which was surprising given the 15mg of CBD
BLNCD
Yuzu Ginger, Cardamom ● 5mg THC
Flavor (Yuzu): 7/10 subtly sweet, not gingery at all, not bad though
Flavor (Cardamom): 9/10 tastes like orange and cardamom, it’s a really nice combination, just the right amount of sweetness
Texture: 7/10 a little fuzzy feeling on the tongue, but overall good texture
Potency: 4/10 felt hardly anything, not even very relaxing
I would like to note that their CBD seltzers are in my opinion much better than their THC seltzers. I highly recommend all of their flavors for a relaxing day without the high.
Kite Soda
Soda ● 10mg THC
Flavor: 4/10 weird flavors that didn’t really work together in my opinion, sweet but not in a flavorful way
Texture: 9/10 very soda-like texture, nice and bubbly
Potency: 10/10 strong but the perfect amount of calming
Purple J’s
Blackberry Kombucha ● 4.20mg THC
Flavor: 9.3/10 very clear blackberry flavor, not super clear from the flavor that it’s kombucha, hides the weed flavor really well
Texture: 10/10 just like a regular kombucha, very nice
Potency: 9/10 worked very well but wanted it to be a tiny bit stronger
You Betcha
Pineapple + Mango (Daytime) ● 5mg THC
Flavor: 6/10 mild flavor, but you can still taste both the pineapple and mango
Texture: 9/10 very easy to drink, nice over ice
Potency: 8/10 pretty strong, but not the calmest high, I imagine the nighttime one is calmer
Notes: They also have a really great nighttime one that has more CBD in it.
Wikid Sparkling
Paloma ● 5mg THC
Flavor: 10/10 sweet and flavorful, just like a paloma, no weird aftertaste
Texture: 10/10 just like a sparkling paloma
Potency: 9/10 was very strong, but it was a super balanced and calming high
INSIGHT
Orange ● 4.19mg THC
Flavor: 7/10 not bad but the taste reminded me of Alka-Seltzer which was off-putting
Texture: 8/10 very much like a sparkling water, wasn’t refrigerated when I bought it so it was a little flat
Potency: 9.2/10 very strong for less than 5mg THC, calm high, very much in the body
Vibes
Grapefruit ● 5mg THC
Flavor: 6/10 not a strong grapefruit flavor, not very sweet either, wished it was sweeter
Texture: 8/10 nice bubbles, a little intense though
Potency: 9/10 worked well, not too overpowering

Pineapple Express ● 5mg THC ● 25mg CBD
Flavor: 9.2/10 subtle pineapple flavor, no weird aftertaste
Texture: 10/10 bubbly but not overpowering
Potency: 10/10 a ton of CBD compared to other seltzers, really calm high, worked super quickly
Cantrip
Blackberry Lavender ● 5mg THC
Flavor: 10/10 the best one in terms of flavor, blackberry and lavender were strong but not overpowering, really nice balance of flavors and sweetness
Texture: 10/10 subtle and bubbly, very smooth texture at the same time
Potency: 9/10 not super strong but a really nice high
Acre
Citrus + Honey ● 5mg THC ● 5mg CBD
Flavor: 10/10 subtle but all the flavors were there, the citrus was really nice and subtly sweet
Texture: 10/10 subtle bubbles, smooth and balanced
Potency: 10/10 really calming, I felt very conscious and aware but not in a paranoid way, this was unique compared to the experience I had drinking the other seltzers

Raspberry Honeysuckle ● 5mg THC
Flavor: 5/10 tasted sweeter than necessary, not a natural fruity flavor, tasted a bit like melted raspberry candies
Texture: 9/10 nice and bubbly, nothing special
Potency: 10/10 was a really pleasant calming high

Mango Tangerine ● 5mg THC ● 5mg CBD
Flavor: 9/10 tasted very much like mango and tangerine, balanced and lightly sweetened
Texture: 8.7/10 nice and bubbly, nothing special
Potency: 9/10 a calm and balanced high
Melt
Blood Orange Raspberry Vanilla ● 10mg THC
Flavor: 3.5/10 smelled absolutely terrible, the flavor itself wasn’t bad, but the smell made it horrible to drink, the flavors didn’t go very well together either
Texture: 8/10 bubbly enough, but the smooth vanilla flavor made it a bit fuzzy feeling on the tongue
Potency: 9/10 It lives up to it’s name, it was a super relaxing high that made me very tired
Smazey
Passion Fruit Strawberry Watermelon ● 12mg THC
Flavor: 9.2/10 really nice flavor, all the flavors are there, minimal aftertaste
Texture: 9.7/10 very bubbly and also smooth
Potency: 8/10 strong but really nothing better than any other seltzer
I’ve come to the conclusion that the Cycling Frog, Acre, and Chill State were the best THC seltzers that I tried. I’m sure there are many that I haven’t reviewed and many to come. These were the most requested and available to me where I live. In the last year I haven’t tried many of the new additions, so please feel free to comment any seltzers you recommend.
