You can cook up a batch of this incredibly sweet date caramel popcorn in just a few minutes. It’s so easy… and healthy!
Sometimes caramel popcorn can be overly sweet buttery. This popcorn is perfectly sweet and crunchy, without leaving a bad feeling in your mouth after you eat it.
Dessert popcorn has never really been my kind of treat. That’s mostly because of the overflow of butter and sugar.
If you thought you liked caramel popcorn before, you’re gonna LOVE this sweet treat!
- ⅓ cup popcorn kernels
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- ⅓ cupdate caramel
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat and add 2-3 kernels. Cover the top.
- When the kernels pop, add the rest of the kernels.
- Once the popping slows, remove from heat and shake, to keep from burning.
- Transfer to a large bowl and let cool completely.
- Once room temperature, stir caramel into popcorn. (You may need to use your hands to get it to be evenly spread on the popcorn.)
- Sprinkle sea salt on top and stir.
Oh wait! We’re not done yet! There’s more.
These are caramel popcorn CLUSTERS. They’re:
Perfectly sweetened
Crispy & crunchy
Wonderful as a pre-packed snack
Yum! I personally prefer these over regular caramel popcorn. There’s no better snack for watching a movie on a cold winter night. Take my word for it!
To get the perfect crispiness, these clusters are baked. This gives them a delicious, almost smokey flavor.
The date caramel adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the popcorn.
Take my word for it, you won’t be able to eat just one of these delicious clusters.
If you thought you liked caramel popcorn before, this is a wonderful spin on a classic recipe that tastes even better and is much healthier.
