Hot to Plan Food Blog Posts - Learn to add recipes to your calendar and Get your FREE editorial calendar! www.wakeuptowaffles.comOne of the most fun (but admittedly difficult) things about blogging is the planning. It also happens to be something that I’m great at. I’ve created my own blogging planner to stay organized and it has greatly helped me to plan each blog post and track my social media growth. It’s not only easy to do, once you have the right tools, but it can also be super fun.

1. STAY UBER ORGANIZED.
I created a simple and easy-to-use blogging planner that has helped me drastically to plan each blog post.

You can print my planner for free HERE! It includes:

  • a cover page (to slip into a binder)
  • a key (to organize each note accordingly)
  • a social media chart (to track the growth of your accounts)
  • a daily planner
  • a weekly planner
  • a monthly planner

2. SET REMINDERS FOR YOURSELF.

Along with a planner, I like to have a reminder on my phone and laptop for when I need to make a recipe. I organize them with different backgrounds based on:

  • if I’m making the recipe and photographing it
  • if I’m testing it out to photograph it later
  • personal reminders

This is what my calendar looked like in June:

 3. COLOR CODE!

My favorite part about planning blog posts is the color coding. Not all calendars come color coded and easily customizable, but luckily you don’t need all that. Just get out your gel pens and colored pencils because you’re gonna need them.
I like to make a key (like the one in my planner) to organize notes based on what they’re about. If you plan on making your own calendar, I recommend color coding each note based on these:

  • new ideas
  • test recipes
  • photographing recipes
  • posting to blog
  • posting to social media
  • money made

I hope this helps you plan your posts. It definitely helped me to plan my content when I started my blog.
